Dr. Dale Gnidovec, Manager and Curator, of the OSU Orton Geological Museum will join us with a fun hands-on, interactive and entertaining presentation about dinosaurs, fossils and prehistoric animals. Registration is required and begins May 30.

Messy Day

Age Group: 

One of our most popular summer programs is back. Join us outside for finger painting, blowing bubbles, and creating artwork with sidewalk chalk. Children of all ages are welcome. Come prepared to get messy and have fun! No enrollment is required. There is no rain date for this event.

Spectrum Storytime

Age Group: 

This monthly storytime is designed for young children on the Autism spectrum and/or children with sensory processing sensitivities. We will have stories, songs, and activities to encourage literacy and positive associations with reading and the library. This is a registered event; registration is limited to 8 children and their caregiver(s), and must be made in-person or by phone. This program is designed for children with a developmental stage of 3-5 years old; children aged 10 and under are welcome.

Sing-A-Story: Pajama Time

Miller Park’s own in-house musician, Brian Griffin, will visit with his guitar for this Pajama Storytime. Free tickets are required and will be available beginning May 1st.

DIY Comic Modge Podge Madness

Give your boring old folders and notebooks, shoes, accessories or containers some awesomeness with comics! You bring the items to Modge Podge and we’ll provide the comics and other supplies. Registration is required and begins April 27, 2013.

One-Sheet Comic Workshop

Age Group: 

In honor of Free Comic Book Day, kids in grades 3-6 can join Caitlin McGurk from the Billy Ireland Cartoon Library and Museum in this fun, interactive and inspiring comic workshop. Participants will review a little history of comics, view some innovative mini-comics and leave with a complete self-made mini-comic book! Awesome fun!
Registration is required and begins April 20, 2013.

Duck Hunt

Thursday, April 25, 2013 - 4:00pm to 5:00pm

Age Group: 

Join us in the lower level of the Lane Road Library for some duck stories and songs. The children will then hunt for rubber ducks and duck “eggs” outside (weather permitting). Afterwards we will make a duck “nest” for the children to take their ducks and eggs home in. Kids of all ages are welcome. Registration is required and begins April 11. In case of bad weather, the hunt will be held in the library.
