ESOL - Current Events Discussion Group

Vivian Harvey will lead a weekly discussion about current news events that is for those non-native English speakers who want to develop their English speaking and reading comprehension skills.

Class size is limited and registration is required. Registration begins on August 20, 2014.

For children ages 3 ½ to 6 and their caregivers. Children and caregivers will learn pre-reading skills through stories, songs and rhymes to help prepare them for their Kindergarten Readiness Assessment. Kindergarteners will continue to strengthen their skills. Skills include answering questions, repeating sentences, rhyming words and identifying sounds and letters.

You CAN make a difference! We all want to stay healthy and independent as we get older. Along with keeping our bodies in good shape, we want to keep our minds healthy, too. Tales for Twos and Threes Class

For children ages 2-3 and their caregivers. Songs, rhymes and stories teach children how sounds and letters relate to reading and will build a foundation for future learning. Interaction with instructors and other children encourages social development and allows caregivers to connect.

For children 0-24 months and their caregivers. Caregivers will learn songs, stories and rhymes to enhance personal reading time. UA High School Book Club

For students attending Upper Arlington High School. If you attend UAHS and would like to expand your reading repertoire, UAHS and UAPL are partnering to offer an afternoon of lively discussion surrounding classics and contemporary literature. Stop by the UAHS Learning Center to pick up a copy of this month’s title or topic.
