Preschool Seeds and Flowers

Saturday, May 18, 2013 - 10:30am to 11:15am

Age Group: 

Preschoolers and their caregivers can join us for a hands-on program exploring seeds and flowers. We’ll read some stories, do some music and movement activities and each child will leave with some planted seeds. Be sure to wear comfortable clothing that can withstand some messy fun! Weather permitting we may be outdoors. Registration is required and begins May 4th.

Preschool Storytime Class

Age Group: 

For children ages 3 ½ to 6 and their caregivers. Children and caregivers will learn pre-reading skills through stories, songs and rhymes to help prepare them for their Kindergarten Readiness Assessment in Literature Test (KRAL). Kindergarteners will continue to strengthen their skills. Skills include answering questions, repeating sentences, rhyming words and identifying sounds and letters.

Youth Chess Club

Age Group: 

For students in grades 3-6. Checkmate! Chess lovers of all levels are welcome to join our Youth Chess Club. Our local teen experts will moderate, help beginners and suggest strategies to players. Registration is required and begins two weeks prior. (45 min.)

Books & Blocks

Children and caregivers join us for stories, building and fun! Each month we’ll read a couple of stories to start, then the building will begin with our LEGO Duplo blocks. We provide books and blocks as inspiration, then your child gets hands-on building time. Please note, children will not be able to keep their creations. Registration is required and begins two weeks prior.

Tales for Twos and Threes Class

For children ages 2-3 and their caregivers. Songs, rhymes and stories teach children how sounds and letters relate to reading and will build a foundation for future learning. Interaction with instructors and other children encourages social development and allows caregivers to connect.
