Dinosaurs and Other Fossils

Dr. Dale Gnidovec, Manager and Curator, of the OSU Orton Geological Museum will join us with a fun hands-on, interactive and entertaining presentation about dinosaurs, fossils and prehistoric animals. Registration is required and begins May 30.

Parent-Child Newbery Book Discussion: One Crazy Summer

For students in grades 4-6 and a caregiver. Library instructors facilitate a discussion of a selected past Newbery winner or honor title to teach critical thinking and appreciation for literature. This month we will read One Crazy Summer by Rita Williams-Garcia. Multiple copies of the book will be available for check-out at each UAPL location; each family is responsible for securing their own copy. (60 min.)

Parent-Child Newbery Book Discussion: Dear Mr. Henshaw

One-Sheet Comic Workshop

In honor of Free Comic Book Day, kids in grades 3-6 can join Caitlin McGurk from the Billy Ireland Cartoon Library and Museum in this fun, interactive and inspiring comic workshop. Participants will review a little history of comics, view some innovative mini-comics and leave with a complete self-made mini-comic book! Awesome fun!

Giants Beware Colorist John Novak

Come learn about the art of color in comic books and graphic novels with John Novak, colorist for Giants Beware! and the Tricky Journey series. John will discuss the making of graphic novels and demonstrate how to color pages on a computer. Kids will get to try their hand at coloring digitally. LEGO Lit

ESOL Book Club
