It’s that time of year to create wonderful holiday memories with your family. Central Ohio is a great place to live this time of year, with fantastic holiday traditions happening all through December.

Upper Arlington Winter Festival & Tree Lighting Ceremony

The start of the holiday season will become official in UA when Mayor Frank Ciotola lights the tree and the community celebrates with music, Santa, carriage rides and much more. Holidays at UAPL

UAPL’s annual Holiday Happiness returns Saturday, December 7, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Main Library. A Gingerbread Building Competition, the Avenue of Trees, music, crafts and, of course, a visit from Santa are just a part of the family activities. Merry and Bright at Franklin Park Conservatory

The Franklin Park Conservatory is known for their fun and family-friendly events around the holidays. The place is transformed with hundreds of poinsettias, Christmas lights, gingerbread houses and more to delight the family. Celebrate the Holidays at the Ohio Statehouse

See holiday decorations as they were in Victorian Times, enjoy free music performances and find some unique holiday gifts. All of this can be done throughout December at the Ohio Statehouse. Their website has dates and times the Statehouse festivities can be enjoyed.

Wildlights at Columbus Zoo and Aquarium

A lot has changed in the 25 years since the Zoo started their holiday Wildlights, and now it’s more elaborate than ever! Millions of lights, musical shows, Santa and his reindeers and many more holiday festivities await your family through January 5, 2014. Click here for details.

BalletMet’s The Nutcracker

Seeing the Nutcracker at the Ohio Theatre is a family holiday tradition here in Columbus. The show runs from December 12 through 24. Find tickets for your family here!
