Smoothies

berry smoothie in a glass with blenderA smoothie is a great way to start the day.  Smoothies are quick, portable, delicious and they can be healthy.  Here's a recipe for a morning favorite at our house.

Quick Morning Smoothie with green tea

1 cup of cold green tea (I recommend Celestial Seasonings Sugar Cookie Sleigh Ride)

2 cups berries (your choice)

1 banana

1/2 to 1 cup of yogurt

3 T. honey (optional)

ice as you prefer

Throw everything in the blender until combined.  Enjoy!  

One of the other great things about smoothies is that you can add whatever you want.  We have several recipe books for smoothies at the library including Smoothies for Life which can be downloaded to your device or Superfood Smoothies.  

If you're looking for some tasty, healthy eating information like smoothies, Whole Foods will be at Tremont with advice and recipe demonstrations during October.  Registration is required for the classes.
